HySecurity’s first employee blood drive was held Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at HySecurity’s manufacturing facility in Kent, WA. The Puget Sound Blood Center sent a fully equipped blood donation bus to HySecurity where 20 pints of blood were donated during the 3 hour event.
“The snow storms and icy roads have caused a blood bank shortage in the Seattle area this Winter,” said Jim Pyle, HySecurity’s Parts Coordinator and organizer of the blood drive. “HySecurity’s blood drive couldn’t have happened at a better time.”
Similar donation events are held across the street at REI’s Corporate Headquarters. “Up until
recently, we haven’t had enough HySecurity donors to hold our own event so REI invited us to
donate during their blood drives,” Pyle explained. Despite icy roads, 24 HySecurity employees
participated to make this event a success.
All donors must wait 56 days between blood donations. HySecurity will hold its 2nd blood drive in February 2009.
HySecurity is a manufacturer of premium automated gate systems with installations at the United Nations, The Pentagon, Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq and protecting tens of thousands of key asset and critical infrastructure installations worldwide.
